- Traits and Matters Ten Gods Could Represent

by Master Wey, Ba Zi guide

In our first article talking about the Ten Gods, we have seen how the Five Stars are defined in relation to the Day Master element. Each of these Stars has 2 polarities: Yin and Yang which differentiate the 2 varieties called from now on Gods. This appellative was chosen for convenience only and has nothing to do with religion or faith.

Talking about a god we talk about a principle of a polar element in relation to the Day Master element and it has nothing related to faith or religion. A god could represent traits, people, places, or matters. Hereunder we'll talk about traits and matters and in the next article we'll talk about people and places.

There are 10 Gods derived from the Five Stars as shown in a previous article. They represent in fact polar elements principles in relation to the Day Master. These principles can be found either in personality traits or in people typologies, or places. In the next chapter will see how to evaluate the Quality of gods. The strength of the element is always an important factor but not the only one.

A good-quality, strong god will have an important influence on the Destiny Chart in contrast with a weak and low-quality god. In this last case we can say that the Day Master has a very low affinity with all that god represents traits, people, places, or matters.

A god is considered to be hidden when it is located in the sub-Qi of the branches only. To use the traits or skills related to such a star a person should persevere working in this respect. At the same time, being hidden, the god is protected from the effects of the clashes affecting the Pillar.

A god is considered revealed when it appears in the Heavenly Stems. The characteristics of such a god are visible and most obvious to the people around the person, especially at first sight.

A god is considered to be excessive when it is strong and appears more than 4 times in a Destiny Chart. It can happen in such cases that god is converted in the opposite (Friends become Rob Wealth, Direct Officer becomes Seven Killings, Direct Resource becomes Indirect Resource and the Eating God becomes Hurting Officer). Unfortunately, when it converts, the god will manifest only the negative aspects of its opposite god.

Before going further, just have a look and check again what strength and quality each one of your Gods has on the Profile Analysis page.

When a Pillar is affected by a negative (clash, harm) or positive (combination) interaction with one or more Pillars, we can gain more insights into the consequences by analyzing the gods in the affected Pillars. This allows us to form an idea of where it might happen, whether we or people in our surroundings are involved, narrow down the possibilities, and anticipate the potential outcomes based on traits and matters. With this information in mind, you will undoubtedly view interactions discussed in profiling or compatibility assessments with a new perspective from now on.
