What Are Guardian Angels in Different Cultures?

Guardian angels, or spiritual beings assigned to protect and guide individuals, are a common concept across various mystical traditions. While the specifics may vary, the underlying belief in benevolent entities offering divine assistance remains consistent. Here's an overview of guardian angels in different mystical traditions:

Judaism

The Jewish mysticism, particularly in Kabbalah, acknowledges the existence of protective spirits known as "malakhim" or "shomrim" (watchers). These angels are believed to guide and safeguard individuals, especially during times of need.

Christianity

In Christianity, guardian angels are viewed as celestial beings assigned by God to watch over individuals and offer protection, guidance, and support. The belief in guardian angels is rooted in biblical references such as Psalm 91:11-12 and Matthew 18:10. Christians often pray to their guardian angels for guidance and protection.

Islam

In Islam, believers are taught about the existence of guardian angels, known as "Kiraman Katibin" (honorable recorders). These angels record a person's deeds, both good and bad.

New Age and Spiritualism

Guardian angels are seen as benevolent spirits or higher-dimensional beings who offer guidance, protection, and comfort. Individuals may connect with their guardian angels through meditation, prayer, or spiritual practices and seek their assistance in navigating life's challenges.

Native American and Indigenous Traditions

Many Native American and indigenous traditions believe in guardian spirits or spirit guides that watch over individuals and communities. These spirits are often associated with animals or natural elements and are believed to offer guidance, protection, and wisdom.

Chinese Metaphysics

While the concept of guardian angels may not be as explicitly defined in Eastern religions and philosophies such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism, there is a belief in benevolent celestial beings, divine protectors, or guiding forces that can assist individuals on their spiritual paths - the Noble Men.

Noble Men Stars in Ba Zi

In Ba Zi, Noble Men Stars are categorized as Auxiliary Stars. They represent Qi body energies associated with specific elements in the Pillars of the Destiny Chart. Their presence or absence in certain pillars or Luck Pillars offers further insights into areas like wealth, health, relationships, career, and travel.

In life, we always rely on others' help to succeed—those who share their experience or knowledge, offer support when needed, motivate, or encourage career pursuits. They may not always be emotionally connected or compatible, and at times, even adversaries. These individuals can alter our life or career path through their lessons, advice, knowledge, or the challenges they present.

What is a Noble Man Star?

Very auspicious, these stars represent people who help you a lot and unconditionally in life. They are always two, and their presence in the Destiny Chart says that you often have support in life and many good things happen to you.

They embody individuals ready to lend a hand when you're in need—those with higher social status like bosses or mentors, discreetly offering their benevolent assistance.

Typically, assistance arrives when a Noble Man appears in your Luck Pillars, whether it's the year, month, or day. When hiring, having Nobles in the candidate's Destiny Chart proves beneficial. A period marked by a Noble Man in both your Destiny Chart and a Luck Pillar is highly conducive to achieving goals. Furthermore, the presence of a Noble Man star in a pillar can neutralize the negative effects of other stars within.

Discovering Noble Men Stars: Where and How to Find Them

Individuals with Noble Stars in their chart receive constant assistance, are blessed, and don't need to seek or ask for help because these individuals are always there when needed.

We seek Noble Men Stars in three ways:

  • Through our Destiny Chart - they reveal who will assist us based on the pillar they occupy.
  • In the Luck Pillars - indicating the timing of their assistance.
  • If absent in our Destiny Chart or Luck Pillars, we consciously seek them in others' charts and request their aid.

Depending on the pillar they appear in your birth chart, Noble Men Stars represent different types of individuals who will assist you:

  • In the Year Pillar: those who can assist may come from your social circle—friends, classmates, or colleagues—or from your industry. They can offer aid in society, networking, industry, reputation, and connections.
  • In the Month Pillar: Bosses, mentors, or financial advisors can support your career or business.
  • In the Day Pillar: Your spouse may offer life-changing advice.
  • In the Hour Pillar: Subordinates, employees, or students may provide business or investment guidance.
  • In the Luck Pillar: Noble individuals may appear during the indicated period, especially in the matching year.
  • In the Pillar of Conception: Blood relatives or family members, the person may have inherited wealth or assets from the family. It brings great fortune and protection, ensuring a lifetime of prosperity for the person.
  • In the Pillar of Life: Spiritual guides or leaders. Having the Noble People star in the Life Pillar suggests a person with a wealth of knowledge and wisdom.

Now's the time to satisfy your curiosity and check your Destiny Chart for your Noble Man Stars.

John Doe's Destiny Chart

In the following panel, you'll find all the Auxiliary Stars, including the Noble Man Stars, along with their corresponding Earthly Branches. In the example above, the Rabbit and Snake represent the Noble Men, with the Snake visible in the Year Pillar.

Indirect Noble Men

Indirect Nobles are those whom, when you don't have your own Noble Men in your Destiny Chart, you can find through someone else (meaning someone introduces you to a noble - indirect nobles). In this case, you check through simple combinations if you have indirect nobles in your chart according to the table below:

First Element Second Element Produced Element
rat + ox = earth
tiger + pig = wood
rabbit + dog = fire
dragon + rooster = metal
snake + monkey = water
horse + goat = 日月 sun moon

So, if your noble is Rabbit (and you don't have it in your chart), then Dog will be the indirect noble (and see if you have it in your chart). If you have the indirect noble in your chart, then it will appear in your life through another person.

In most cases, assistance in life comes from other individuals. Ba Zi helps us understand the type of assistance we can expect, especially from certain individuals. To do so, simply follow the steps below. Best of luck!

Once you've identified your Noble Men using the Ba Zi Advisor profiling module, you have to analyze the Destiny Charts of your contacts to see where your Noble Men Stars are located in their Chart.

Depending on the type of pillar where you found your Nobel Man, you can determine how they might assist you, according to the table above. For instance, located in the month pillar, they may offer career or business advice, while located in the year pillar, they might help you in society, networking, or your specific industry.

What kind of assistance can you expect?

Once you've identified contacts with one or both of your Noble Stars in their Destiny Chart, you can already discern, based on the Pillar they're in, the type of assistance they might provide, as per the table above. For instance, if your Noble Man star is Rabbit, and it appears in the annual pillar of your contact, Jane Doe, you can expect Jane to offer assistance in societal matters, such as networking, reputation, and connections.

Jane Doe's Destiny Chart
It's crucial to remember that unlike the Noble Men in your own Destiny Chart, who are always there for you, those you find in other people's Destiny Charts require explicit requests for assistance.

Remember, a person's Day Master is represented by the polar element in the Celestial Stem of the Day Pillar. In the examples above, both John Doe and Jane Doe have yang water as their Day Master. Now, it's important to see, according to the cycle of the five elements, what Jane's Day Master represents for John's Day Master.

In this case, Water for Water represents the Friends Star. Depending on the type of Star, the type of assistance you'll receive from this person is determined.

  • Resource = Time & assets - the person can assist you with time and goods – for example, providing you with free office space.
  • Output = Idea - the person helps you with specific ideas – for example, organizing your business.
  • Wealth = Money - the person financially supports you (sponsorship) or introduces you to someone who can sponsor or lend you money.
  • Friends = Experience - the person assists you with their experience in a certain field.
  • Influence = System - the person helps you with their platform (media, internet, advertising, network) – for example, providing access to a database or introducing you to an existing market.

In what field of activity is the assistance likely to be?

To determine this, you need to identify the corresponding element of the primary Qi of the Noble Man in question. Each element corresponds to several main domains/industries as follows:

  • Wood - Fashion and clothing, woodworking, furniture making, botany and herbalism, education, religious studies, cultural endeavors;
  • Fire - Fuel and oil production, foodservice industry, aviation (airlines), cutting-edge technology, metaphysics, computer science, electrical and electronic engineering, firearms and military technology, hot sectors, marketing, promotional services, laser technology;
  • Earth - Real estate, natural resources, insurance, pottery, construction materials like cement and bricks, gemstones;
  • Metal - Jewelry, automotive industry, finance, mining and metal/aluminum production, mechanical fields;
  • Water - Maritime navigation and shipping, aquaculture and fishing, tourism, journalism, commerce and transportation, water-related industries such as laundry and sewage management, and knowledge-based sectors like strategic planning and analysis.

In the example above, the Noble Man Rabbit corresponds to the Wood element, so the assistance from Jane may come in one of the domains represented by Wood.
